Cathance River Trail Kiosk

Sometimes big things come in small packages. This tiny yet meaningful project was a celebration of many of our core values we hold as a business. As members of the Timber Framers Guild, we caught wind of their “40 Frames for 40 Years” initiative, celebrating the Guild’s 40th anniversary by encouraging members to give back to their local communities through donated frames. We immediately knew who our recipient would be; one of our favorite local trails in bad need of a new trailhead structure. We reached out to the local Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust, caretakers of this river trail network. We had the honor of collaborating on the project with them, which was a great success.

The 4’ x 12’ frame was a pre-design offered by the Guild. It features rough sawn Eastern White Pine and Hemlock timbers, milled right here in Lisbon Falls and highlights the character of each species — a small but meaningful nod to Maine’s rich timber heritage. Designed to welcome visitors of all ages, the Cathance River Trail kiosk will house a full trail map, seasonal info, and an interactive chalkboard for recording nature sightings. Being a part of community is important to our company, whether that's at home protecting Maine's natural resources or at large as a part of the greater timber framing family.
